As they approached, one of the unusual lights reportedly emitted a vibrant flash of light. And then after which PCF-19 exploded in a cascade of water and flying debris.

Then PCF-12 began to turn away at full speed as the two mysterious UFOs tailed and stalked them. The objects were flashing their lights in the night sky the whole time. The second engine man Jim Steffes would later declare that he was given a good look at the craft.
