Witnesses Describe Adamski-Like UFO Sighting in Peru

October 19, 1973 54mi outside Lima, Peru

The UFO report follows at about 3:00 p.m. Architect and engineer Hugo Luyo Vega, 54, and a client from Matucana are driving along the Peruvian Central Highway when they stop near Cocachacra, Peru. The client points out a luminous object near the bottom of a valley moving toward them.

Hugo runs to the car, grabs his Polaroid, and photographs the object when it is about 160 feet away and 65 feet above the ground. The UFO then rapidly moves off in the opposite direction. It resembles an inverted soup bowl, burnished silver in color, with a cupola on top. At the apex is a steady blue light above a turret with a row of small portholes.

The base is about 33 feet in diameter, and from the center underside a deep red pulsating light emits from a cone surrounded by oval protuberances. The observation lasts about 30 seconds, but the witnesses are so stunned that 20 minutes pass before they can continue driving.
