👽On October 24, 1976 at 10:30 p.m. Romeo Lucarelli is driving home from Hestroff to Hobling, Moselle, France with his granddaughter, when he spots two lights in the fields on a hill. Initially mistaking them for a stationary vehicle, he quickly realizes they are coming from a strange UFO craft hovering about 328 feet above the ground. The UFO, shaped like two connected spheres with a rectangular structure, has numerous colored lights. It begins to follow his car.
Lucarelli sees two alien figures through a large window on the object, one with a long beard and dark brown hair. As he speeds up to escape, the object follows closely, eventually blocking his path before veering off when he makes a sudden turn toward his home. The craft hovers above his garage for a moment before moving away, leaving behind distinct traces on the ground in the shape of two double circles.
On October 25, traces of the landing site remain visible. Local press coverage and a police investigation follow, but no electrical anomalies or outages are reported. The gendarmerie considers the traces could be from a tractor, though this is disputed by investigators who note the unusual geometric nature of the marks and their persistence over time.
