Must See The USS Trepang Submarine March 1971 U.S.O Photo Encounter

USS Trepang (SSN-674), a Sturgeon-class attack submarine, was the second ship of the United States Navy to be named for the trepang, Holothuroidea, a marine animal with a long, tough, muscular body. Following local operations out of her home port, New London, Connecticut, Trepang proceeded to the Arctic early in 1971. From 22 February to 22 March 1971, she operated beneath the polar ice cap, conducting extensive tests to provide data for her weapons systems as well as carrying out scientific experiments concerning the movement, composition, and geological history of the ice cap itself.

March 1971 while under command of Admiral Dean Reynolds Sackett.

Admiral Dean Reynolds Sackett was a notable figure in the United States Navy. He was born on December 12, 1921, and passed away on March 24, 2018. Sackett had a distinguished military career, serving in various capacities, including as a naval aviator and in leadership roles during significant military operations.

He is perhaps best known for his service during the Vietnam War and for his contributions to naval aviation. Throughout his career, he received numerous awards and decorations, reflecting his dedication and service to the Navy and the country.

The story began back in March 1971. At this time, the USS Trepang was operating in the Arctic Ocean. A United States Navy submarine, it was carrying out tests on its weapons systems beneath the ice cap.

On board the vessel was Rear Admiral Dean Reynolds Sackett, Jr., who had been Commanding Officer of the Trepang for a little over half a year. Also on board was an officer named John Klika, who apparently had a close encounter of the bizarre kind.

Yes, according to an anonymous source, Klika spotted a strange "Unidentified Submersible Object" USO through the periscope of the submarine while on this particular Arctic excursion. And more than 40 years later, some USO photographs that were allegedly snapped on that fateful day surfaced from the depths to baffle the world.

The original anonymous source claims that:

1. The photos were taken from the USS Trepang Navy Submarine.

2. The location was between Nordic Iceland sea and Jan Mayen island in the Atlantic ocean. (Jan Mayen) belongs to Norway, and is only inhabited by the Norwegian meteorological institute and the Norwegian military.

3. Photo's were taken in March 1971.

4. The submarine was the navy’s USS trepang (SSN 674) and the admiral on board was Dean Reynolds Sackett.

5. The submarine came upon the USO by accident, as they were in the region on a routine joint military and scientific expedition. officer John Klika, was the one who initially spotted the USO with the periscope.
